Quick answer
Ask Rubix about your systems in plain English, where you already work: the RubixKube console, Slack, your terminal, or AI tools such as Claude, Cursor and VS Code over MCP. Rubix answers from your clusters, cloud accounts, machines, connected tools and past incidents, and shows where each answer came from.
Most questions about production are quick to ask and slow to answer. What changed in the last hour? Which pods are unhealthy? Has this happened before, and what fixed it? Each one is a dashboard, a query language and a search through old tickets. Ask once instead.
Where you can ask
- The console. Press ⌘J to open Rubix beside any page. Pin an incident, an environment or a time window such as "since the last deploy" with
@. - Slack (Business and Enterprise). Mention
@Rubixin a channel or a direct message. Every incident gets its own thread, and approvals work from buttons in Slack. - Your terminal. The Rubix CLI:
rubixto chat, orcat error.log | rubix -p "what does this mean?"to ask once. - Your own AI tools. Add RubixKube's MCP server to Claude, Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code, on every plan. It acts as you, with your access.
Questions that work well
Example questions
| Kind of question | Example |
|---|---|
| Health | "Which pods in payments are not healthy, and why?" |
| What changed | "What changed in production in the last hour?" |
| Investigation | "Why is payments-api crash-looping in prod-us-east-1?" |
| History | "Has this happened before? What fixed it last time?" |
| Capacity and cost | "Any hosts above 80% memory in the last hour?" |
Cost answers are estimates unless a source carries billing data, and Rubix says so.
Where the answers come from
- Live state from RubixKube's observers in Kubernetes, AWS, Google Cloud, Azure and Linux machines.
- Connected tools, read through their own tools: metrics and logs in Datadog or Grafana, commits in GitHub, runbooks in Notion and more.
- Memory: past incidents, RCAs, fixes and your team's ratings, so "what fixed it last time" has a real answer.
Every answer shows what Rubix read, so you can check it.
Safe to ask about production
Questions only read. If an answer leads to a change, it goes through your mode: Observe never changes anything, and Assist asks first. Over MCP, your AI tool's own confirmation is the check.

Frequently asked questions
Which AI tools can use RubixKube?
Any tool that speaks MCP. Claude, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code install it from the Apps page. The server is https://mcp.rubixkube.ai/mcp.
Is my Slack data used to train models?
No. Rubix reads at most the last 15 messages of a thread to answer, and no Slack data is used for training.
Can a question change something by accident?
No. Answering only reads. Any change goes through your mode and approvals.
